I’m Emma Wilson, Creative Director and Visionary behind Story Of Your Day. Before founding my brand, I built a 20-year career with the BBC as a Pioneer Videojournalist, Reporter, and Newsreader. That background sharpened my instinct for storytelling and integrity.
With over 15 years of filming weddings and more than 250 celebrations captured in 15+ countries, I bring a depth of experience few in the industry can match.
In 2016, while still working as a BBC Video Journalist, I took a six-month sabbatical with my family to Switzerland. We never left. Today, I live and work in the heart of the Alps. From here, I film weddings across Switzerland, throughout Europe and beyond.

This philosophy shapes the way I work. I don’t imitate, stage, or follow industry fashions. Instead, I use my journalistic instinct to uncover what makes your story unique.
The process begins long before your wedding day. From the first enquiry, I take time to listen, prepare, and understand what matters most to you. The more I learn, the more authentic and personal your film becomes.
On the day itself, I am discreet and unobtrusive, capturing moments as they unfold naturally. Because we’ve prepared well, I can remain open to spontaneity and weave those moments seamlessly into your story. Every film is personally overseen and edited by me, Emma Wilson.
The result is not a stylised, ‘perfume-advert’ production, but a story-led, editorially grounded film that feels true, intimate, and impossible to replicate.

Suvretta House and Badrutt’s Palace in St. Moritz set the standard for alpine glamour. The Grand Hotel Kronenhof in Pontresina is equally stunning. On Lake Geneva, Fairmont Le Montreux Palace is in a class of its own. In Bern, the Schweizerhof Hotel & Spa delivers quiet, refined elegance.
Lakeside Castles
Schloss Oberhofen and Schloss Schadau sit on the shores of Lake Thun in the Jungfrau Region — two of the most romantic settings I’ve filmed at. Schloss Bottmingen in Basel is a lesser-known gem. And Château Chillon in Montreux is simply extraordinary.

For something smaller and private, Lake Blausee is unlike anywhere else in Switzerland. Villa Honegg above Lake Lucerne offers complete seclusion with alpine views. Grand Hotel Giessbach, beside the Giessbach Falls, is one of the most romantic spots in the country.

Switzerland embodies privacy & intimacy – it was made for elopements and intimate weddings with just a few guests.
Wengen, where I live, is a stunning car-free ski resort in the Jungfrau Region. An abundance of awe-inspiring locations for ski and adventure weddings in the majestic Swiss Alps are here in my backyard. I have combined my passion for filmmaking and skiing and have lots of experience skiing while filming!
