Ian and Brandon enjoyed the most romantic wedding on the stunning Lake Thun. Their wonderful ceremony taking place at Schloss Oberhofen – a magnificent fairy-tale Swiss castle.
It was a wedding full of amazing surprises…
Firstly, Ian and Brandon took the wedding party up to Jungfraujoch, ‘The Top of Europe’, for an excursion the day before the wedding itself. They were blessed with amazing weather and consequently fabulous views across the Aletsch Glacier.
When we all returned to Bern later that day I took Ian and Brandon for a walk around the old town … and I captured them taking in the views.
On the morning of their wedding Ian and Brandon wanted to do a ‘First Look’ – their idea was to re-enact their first ever meeting.
Thanks to the planner, Sibylle Ledermann at Wedding Excellence, we filmed this part of the day in the lobby of the very swanky Hotel Schweizerhof – it was a very emotional moment for both of them.
Then, Ian and Brandon hired a private boat to take them and their friends and family to across Lake Thun to Schloss Oberhofen for their wedding ceremony and reception.
On the journey they ate fondue while taking in the spectacular views over to The Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains.
It was a wonderful and suitable destination wedding for the globe-trotting couple. Ian and Brandon, who first met on New Year’s Day 2017, have travelled to seven countries in their three-year relationship.
They wanted an experience that was a departure from their home in the midwestern United States. And boy did they get it.
Schloss Oberhofen was the first of 10 venues that they visited in Switzerland and they immediately fell in love with its charm – the lake, the surrounding mountains, the beautiful gardens, and rustic decor had them hooked.
What a wonderful destination wedding weekend in Switzerland.
