Ios, a gorgeous, hilly Greek island with cliffs down to the sea, is a simply wonderful setting for a dream destination wedding.
Situated halfway between Naxos and Santorini in the beautiful Aegean Sea, it is where Australian couple Rebekah and Jarrad chose to tie the knot in gorgeous style.
Rebekah and Jarrad met through a mutual friend at a nightclub 10 years ago… a few years later they bumped into each other at a pub and started chatting and dancing together. But it wasn’t until five years ago that they officially started dating.
Their shared love of travelling saw them visit Dubrovnik in Croatia in 2018, where during a walk down to the wharf – amid local celebrations at World Cup football success – Jarrad proposed. He didn’t have a ring so the couple chose one together that night before a fancy dinner together overlooking the water.
The couple always talked about eloping overseas, knowing it would be a fantastic opportunity to have a big holiday with some of their closet friends and family.
And Ios certainly made the ideal setting for their lovely, relaxed and intimate wedding – with even one of the bride’s best friends, Aimee, acting as celebrant.
With such a stunning backdrop, we were also able to enjoy a pre-wedding shoot in the sunset. The weather was sublime – very, very windy but simply beautiful.
