Sally and Geoff got married in November 2018 at The Willows – an elegant, outdoor wedding venue in Melbourne, Australia.
The lovely couple, who live in Australia, met at work three years ago and became very good friends before Geoff proposed to Sally in Paris.
It was a perfect morning on the day of the wedding. Geoff took his groomsmen for some pampering at a trendy barbers in the city, The Bearded Man, while Sally relaxed with her two best friends in the penthouse of The Blackman Hotel close by. They spent some time in the hot tub and drank champagne before getting ready for the ceremony.
Late afternoon, their intimate and gorgeous wedding took place at The Willows on St Kilda Road in a beautiful outdoor ceremony, led by John Francis.
They chose the venue because they wanted an exclusive venue to match their Black Tie wedding and because The Willows was the name of the primary school Sally went to in the UK.
“They have a huge willow tree in the garden as does this venue, it reminded me a little of home and that’s what’s resonated with me,” Sally told me when we went to visit the venue the day before the wedding for the rehearsal.
On their relationship Sally also commented: “We met at work three years ago and our relationship started as friends, which we became the best of. We talk about everything and anything. We love each other’s company and can easily stay up till the small hours just chatting and enjoying one another’s company.”
“Having spent so long finding ‘the one’, we do love to spend quality time together and share each other’s passions. He loves cricket and I love to watch him play. I like dancing so Geoff took up dancing with me. There is no asking permission or other bull sh$t stuff, we never argue because we always talk about stuff.”
“We love travelling together, whether that’s just jumping in the car, roof down and finding new places around us or travelling overseas.”
I absolutely loved filming Sally and Geoff’s wedding. I flew to Melbourne a few days before the wedding to hang out with them capturing moments of their time together to tell their love story.
I am passionate about this element of service which some couples commission, which enables me to tell more than just the story of their wedding day and of course means that all my wedding trailers are unique.
And why did they choose to fly me all the way to Australia to film their wedding? I’ll leave that answer down to Geoff…
“It was a no brainer for us. You are passionate about what you do and a perfectionist so we know the film will be amazing.”
