It may have rained when Rammina and Chris got married at Swinton Park, Yorkshire in the summer, but their day was full of warmth and sunshine.
But then it’s no surprise, as the rain didn’t dampen Chris’s proposal either.
The pair love walking, especially in Yorkshire, and on a particularly long walk of three hours it soon began to rain.
As Rammina explains: “As soon as we started walking, the skies turned grey and poured with rain. Chris considered many opportunities to propose on the walk but given the rain and our state of exhaustion, he waited until we returned to Yorebridge House in Wensleydale where we sat outside in the hot tub overlooking the river and he got down on one knee.”
Swinton Park was one of the very first places the couple stayed together as a couple and is their most favourite hotel in Yorkshire – they love that all rooms are named after places in Yorkshire.
Chris even asked the permission of Rammina’s father to marry his daughter at the venue.
It was a wonderful day. The Groom’s sister, Franki, played the piano during the reception and Rammina’s sister, Raeeka, read a lovely poem, special to the couple, by EE Cummings:
I carry your heart with me (I carry it in my heart)
I am never without it (anywhere I go you go, my dear; and whatever
is done by only me is your doing,my darling)
I fear no fate (for you are my fate,my sweet)
I want no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)
And, it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant and whatever a sun will always sing is you
